This 8-day itinerary offers a balanced pace, allowing for excellent acclimatization while traversing diverse landscapes, from lush rainforests to alpine deserts. The route provides stunning views and a rewarding challenge for those seeking to reach the highest point in Africa.

Trekking Itinerary
​
Arrival Day: Kilimanjaro (JRO) Airport - Moshi
​
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Meet with your trekking team for a pre-climb briefing and final gear check.

Day 1: Lemosho Gate - Big Tree Camp (Mti Mkubwa)
​
Drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate (2-3 hours) and complete park formalities. Proceed to the Lemosho trailhead and start your trek through the rainforest to Big Tree Camp (2,780 meters), where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Big Tree Camp - Shira 1 Camp
​
Continue trekking through the rainforest and ascend towards the Shira Plateau. Reach Shira 1 Camp (3,500 meters) where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp - Shira Hut
​
Trek across the Shira Plateau, taking in expansive views of Kilimanjaro and its surroundings. Ascend to Shira 2 Camp (3,850 meters) for overnight camping.

Day 4: Shira Hut - Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
​
Trek across rocky terrain and alpine desert, ascending to Lava Tower (4,600 meters) for acclimatization. Descend to Barranco Camp (3,950 meters) for overnight camping.

Day 5: Barranco Camp - Karanga Camp
​
The day begins with a steep climb up the Barranco Wall, followed by a descent into the Karanga Valley. The route then meets the Mweka Trail. This segment showcases the crew’s skill and agility as they navigate the challenging terrain.

Day 6: Karanga Camp - Barafu Camp
​
The trail continues up to Barafu Camp, completing the South Circuit. This camp offers various perspectives of the summit. An early dinner and rest prepare you for the summit attempt.

Day 7: Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak, then Descend to Mweka Camp
​
Begin your summit attempt around midnight, ascending to Stella Point (5,685 meters) and then Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters). Descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest, then continue to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters).

Day 8: Mweka Camp - Mweka Gate
​
Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificates. Transfer back to Moshi/Arusha for a well-deserved meal and rest.

Deposit is 20% of the total booking amount.

Deposit can be paid either via a bank transfer or an online card payment.

A 5% fee is applicable on all card payments (payment gateway charges), this is non-refundable.

Once you make the advance payment you will receive a booking confirmation.

Balance Payment

Balance can be paid via bank transfer, online card payment, or with cash.

Bank payment can be done 15 days prior to the tour date (recommended 30 days prior).

Card Payment can be done 1 day prior to the tour date (recommended 7 days prior).
